The Seven Deadly Sins
Ted Smith is the Executive Director of the Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition (SVTC): a watchdog group for the semi-conductor and chip manufacturing industry. Chip manufacturing is, per product weight, probably the most polluting industrial process in the world. Ted is trying to change that.
The SVTC site (http://www.svtc.org/svtc/) is packed with information about chip manufacturing, lists all the chip makers worldwide, includes maps of superfund cleanup sites, specs on chip manufacturing, and tons of resources.
Ted ends his email with this thought-provoking reminder -- something I thought worth passing on in this dotcom age of ‘cheaper, faster:’
