CITIBANK CALIFORNIA Oakland, CA Marketing Manager: Developed strategic marketing for cross-selling checking and savings products to Citibank Bankcard customers in the Western Division (California, Arizona, Nevada). Managed a sales budget of $800,000. Increased deposits by 13% in three months. UNITED STATES FEDERAL RESERVE BANK San Francisco, CA Director, Public Information, Los Angeles: Responsible for media and public relations, community tour program, corporate art collection, and strategic planning for largest branch in the US Federal Reserve System. Administered a million dollar budget and staff of five. Supported the Branch President with speech writing and public presentations coaching. Marketing Manager: Strategic marketer for electronic funds product sales in the Western states (Washington, Oregon, California, Utah, Nevada, Hawaii), liaison for branch sales staff; editor and administrator of customer communications and collateral material; speech writer and corporate affairs assistant to the President of the Twelfth Federal Reserve District.

Curriculum Designer/Instructor: University of California, Berkeley. Composition curriculum development for summer "Bridge Program" for gifted EOPS students. Project Administrator: “Project Hear Me,” Hawaii Dept. of Education: Created, funded, and managed a year-long theatre and writing project for deaf and hearing students, grades 5–9, which culminated in a theatre production that toured the public schools in Hawaii. As follow-up, co-produced the video documentary, “Talking Hands: Big Island Tour.”

FAMILY CRISIS SHELTER Yakima, Washington Counselor: Supervised troubled youth who were wards of the state in a family- style facility; provided daily educational activities, counseling and discipline in a ‘tough-love’ environment.

HAWAII PREPARATORY ACADEMY Kamuela, Hawaii English Department Chairman: Responsible for curriculum development and department admin-is-tra-tion for 6-person English department at private boarding school, grades 9–12, student body of 800. Also taught Advanced Placement English, literature, composition classes, directed the choir, and served as residential director for the girls' dormitory. Redesigned the upper- division English curricula from a grade-level to a skills-based class structure. Developed placement testing and procedures for incoming freshmen. Arts Liaison: Administered arts lecture series, handled publicity, protocol and public relations for nationally-known poets and writers including Marvin Bell, Leonard Michaels, Maxine Hong Kingston, and John Unterecker. Vice President: Waimea Arts Council: Public relations, fundraising, and special events.
